This kitchen was a tiny galley-style kitchen with a peninsula. This created a small, confined feeling and also presented a challenge to maximizing usable space. Brooks Home Renovations (BHR) removed two walls creating a more open concept that generated more usable space. They wrapped a beam that was required for structural integrity presenting a cohesive look to compliment the rest of the white oak trim throughout the home. In addition to the white oak beam, BHR also added a white oak range hood that was custom designed for the home.

The existing hard-wood maple flooring was refinished and also the voids that were created during the wall removal were seamlessly laced together with replacement flooring. Reclaimed wood was also used to create a unique look throughout the flooring. Custom built cabinets were then produced and installed by BHR that are maple and painted white. Granite countertops adorn these new cabinets as well as a tiled backsplash.

This kitchen was a complete transformation from an outdated non-functioning kitchen to a modern feeling, open concept while still adhering to the time period of the home. BHR chose this project as a showcase to demonstrate that all families in the Chippewa Valley can afford to transform their home into something truly special.
